The unramified Eisenstein spectrum
Andrei Okounkov (Columbia University)
Abstract: I will report on joint work with David Kazhdan, in which we determine the unramified Eisenstein spectrum for all split reductive groups over a global field. Our methods are rooted in topology and algebraic geometry. Specifically, we relate the spectral decomposition to a decomposition of $T^*(B \backslash G / B)$ in in a certain cobordism group, where $G$ is the Langlands dual group. This works equally well for fields of positive and zero characteristic.
