Binomial edge ideals

Abstract: In this talk we will survey various old and new results on the homological and algebraic properties of binomial edge ideals. In the last part of the talk, we will present some new results of a recent joint paper with G. Rinaldo and N. Terai on powers of binomial edge ideals with quadratic Groebner bases.
