Equivariant cobordism categories

Abstract: I will explain recent work with G. Szucs (arXiv:1805.12342) studying a category $\mathrm{Cob}_d^G$ whose objects are closed $(d-1)$-manifolds equipped with an action of a finite group $G$, and whose morphisms are equivariant cobordisms. The main result determines the homotopy type of the classifying space of this category in terms of equivariant stable homotopy theory. Time permitting, I will outline why this may be a step towards an equivariant Madsen-Weiss theorem.
