On the continuum limit of discrete Schrödinger operators

Abstract: We consider Schrödinger operators, or more generally perturbations of a class of Fourier multipliers, in the continuous setting, and in the discrete setting on a square lattice with mesh size h. The discrete operators converge to the continuous ones as the mesh size tends to zero, in a generalized resolvent sense. Explicit convergence rates are obtained. We present some spectral consequences of these convergence results.
