Abstract: Abstract. The study of flocking motion has found widespread applications in fields such as biology, ecology, robotics, control theory, sensor networks, sociology, and economics. The most celebrated model in this multidisciplinary area is given by Cucker and Smale (which is referred to as the C-S model hereafter). In this talk, we will begin by briefly reviewing the C-S model and its extensions. Motivated by the fact that every computer is a finite automation, we next address a C-S model that is discrete in both time and state.
