On a BSD-type formula for L-values of Artin twists of elliptic curves
Hanneke Wiersema (King's College London)
Abstract: The Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture connects the arithmetic of elliptic curves over number fields to their L-functions. The conjecture includes a formula for the leading term of the Taylor series of the L-function at s=1 in terms of arithmetic data associated to the elliptic curve. In this talk we will discuss the possible existence of such a formula for L-functions of elliptic curves twisted by Artin representations. After outlining some expected properties of these L-functions, we will present arithmetic applications and some explicit examples. This is joint work with Vladimir Dokchitser and Robert Evans.
