Abstract: In recent joint work with H. Duminil-Copin, K. Kozlowski, and I. Manolescu, we proved convergence of the full-plane six-vertex model towards the Gaussian free field, with an explicit scaling constant. The proof involves both techniques from non-integrable systems (percolation theory, reflection positivity) and integrable systems (Yang-Baxter, Bethe Ansatz). The purpose of this talk is to give a high-level overview of the proof and a glimpse of the ideas involved.
