Abstract: The Entanglement Bootstrap is a program to understand liquid topological phases. The starting point is a single wavefunction satisfying two simple and well-motivated axioms about its entanglement structure. In 2+1 dimensions, much of the algebraic theory of anyons has been derived from this starting point. In this talk, based on work with Bowen Shi and Jin-Long Huang, I'll describe some consequences of this line of thought in 3+1 dimensions, where the richness of low-dimensional topology plays a role.

Some of this work has appeared in arxiv.org/abs/2112.08398.
