Deformation of Curves and Yakovlev Diagrams

Alexios Terezakis (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens & University of Thessaly)

Thu Jan 29, 15:30-16:30 (starts in 7 hours)

Abstract: In this talk, we will explain how a deformation of a curve with a group action can be translated into studying the integral representations of the group. Such representations are often quite hard to understand and difficult to classify. In this setting, we introduce the theory of Yakovlev diagrams and show how it can be used in our case.
