Log geometry and Chow theory

Abstract: Log geometry has become a central tool in enumerative geometry over the past years, providing means to study many degenerations situations. Unfortunately much of the theory is complicated by the fact that products of log schemes differ from products of schemes.

In this talk I will introduce a gadget which replaces Chow theory for log schemes, reproducing many familiar tools such as virtual pullback in the context of log geometry.
