Abstract: Following on from Johanna Knapp's April 29 talk, I will discuss some of the aspects of conformal field theory (CFT) that are important for the LG/CFT correspondence. This includes vertex operator algebras (VOAs), rationality, the Verlinde formula and the corresponding Frobenius algebra, boundary conformal field theory (BCFT) and Ishibashi/Cardy states. Throughout, the main example will be the CFT corresponding to the A-type singularity with $W=x^d$.
