Weyl Groups and Real Toric Varieties

Abstract: Weyl groups can be understood by studying the real toric varieties associated with them. In this talk, we discuss the rational cohomology of these varieties. We present complete computations of their Betti numbers for all types of Weyl groups. Furthermore, for types A and B, we introduce explicit descriptions of the multiplicative structures of the cohomology rings in terms of alternating permutations and B-snakes, respectively.
