Thu Apr 3, 14:30-15:00 (8 months ago)
Abstract: I will present my experience during my research visit at UCLA including more informal aspects like pros and cons, PhD life in the US and life in LA. Then, without going into too much mathematical details, I will explain my research project, which is about modeling earthquakes with spatio-temporal point processes, and put it into the wider context of natural disasters in California. Lastly I will also mention how to finance a research stay using travel grants.
