From separable to non-separable

Abstract: In this talk I will focus on the subobject structures of some categories and use this to show how proofs that are valid for separable (second countable) objects can be extended to non-separable objects in the categories that I work in; primarily the category of (not-necessarily unital) C*-algebras and the category of Cu-semigroups. These methods are frequently used in the paper that I wrote on the characteristics of the newly introduced property "strict comparison up to small remainder" for Cu-semigroups.
