Abstract: The talk will present a new method for medical imaging in the context of coefficient inverse problems (CIPs) in maxwellian systems. The main aim is to find potential tumors in human breasts by reconstructing the value and shape of spatial functions describing the dielectric properties of various tissue types. The algorithms used for the hybrid method will be introduced, together with some theoretical results which discuss the well-posedness of the underlying problem, as well as the convergence of the reconstructing method. We will also look at numerical results achieved by applying our method to anatomically realistic data.
