Smoothing Gorenstein toric affine 3-folds

Abstract: I will state a conjecture on the smoothing components of the deformation space, and discuss one or more of the following topics: possible strategies for proving it, applications to the Fanosearch program, global and higher dimensional analogs. The talk is based on a recent collaboration with Andrea Petracci and Matej Filip.
