Abstract: I will talk about some natural Poisson and symplectic properties of the moduli spaces of Higgs bundles when some extra structure, such as a framing, is added. This is an overview of various past and ongoing work with I. Biswas, J. Martens, A. Peón-Nieto and S. Szabó. I will not assume any previous knowledge on the subject.
