Finite quotients of Cremona groups
Susanna Zimmermann (Université Angers)
Abstract: The Cremona group is the group of birational self-maps of the projective space, and it is very very big. While in dimension 2 over algebraically closed fields there are no finite quotients of this group, there are many such quotients over non-closed fields and in higher dimension. I will discuss why this is and how these quotients come up.
