Geometric structures on spaces of quadratic differentials
Tom Bridgeland (University of Sheffield)
Abstract: This talk is part of a long-running saga which aims to encode the Donaldson-Thomas invariants of a CY3 triangulated category in a geometric structure on its stability space. I will focus on a class of examples of such categories whose stability spaces are known to parameterise compact Riemann surfaces equipped with quadratic differentials. I will explain exactly what geometric structure we should look for on these spaces, and then use moduli spaces of Higgs bundles, flat connections, etc to construct it.
