Abstract: Առաջին զեկուցման ընթացքում մենք հակիրճ ներածություն կներկայացնենք վարիացիոն հաշվի դասական տեսությանը և դրանում կարևոր դերակատարում ունեցող չորս ուռուցիկ պայմաններին: Մասնավորապես, մենք ցույց կտանք, թե ինչպես է քվազիուռուցիկության պայմանը կապված է ինտեգրալ ֆունկցիոնալների համար մինիմիզատորների առկայության հետ: Երկրորդ զեկույցի ընթացքում մենք կտրամադրենք տեսության որոշ կիրառություններ նյութագիտության մեջ: Մասնավորապես, մենք կդիտարկենք էներգիայի մինիմիզացիայի խնդիրը և դրանից բխող կոշտության հարցերը: Սա ներառելու է պտտման խմբի երկրաչափական կոշտությունից մինչև բարակ տիրույթների կոշտությունը, որը կենտրոնական հարց է պատյվնների դեֆորմացիայի և ճաքերի վերլուծության մեջ:

From four conditions of convexity to the geometric rigidity of the rotation group and thin domains

In the first presentation we will provide a brief introduction to the classical theory of the calculus of variations and the four convexity conditions playing an important role in it. In particular, we will show how the quasiconvexity condition is related to the existence of minimizers for integral functionals.

In the second presentation we will provide some applications of the theory to materials science. In particular we will consider the energy minimization problem and the rigidity questions resulting from it. This will range from the geometric rigidity of the rotation group to that of thin domains, which is a central question in the analysis of deformation and fracture of shells.
