On the signature of the Ricci curvature on nilmanifolds

Abstract: A classical problem in Riemannian geometry is to determine the possible signatures of the Ricci curvature on a given space. The aim of this talk is to present the problem in the setting of nilpotent Lie groups with left-invariant metrics, and to give a complete answer of the problem in this case.
