An Ordered Approach to Calculus
Marco Aldi (Virginia Commonwealth University)
Abstract: This talk is an update on my ongoing project on the foundations of analysis. I will explain how extensions of maps between posets can be used as a unifying principle to conceptually understand basic notions such as limits, continuity, integrals, derivatives, and Dedekind cuts. If time permits, I will show how this approach leads to new proofs of familiar theorems.
