Abstract: ABSTRACT: After reviewing the building blocks of the future quantum internet, I will discuss some of the key challenges to address for ensuring quantum-security in near-term network communications. In this context, I will review some of the fundamental trade-offs and limitations to consider in the optimization of both point-to-point and end-to-end quantum communications.
