Understanding space-time singularities inside black holes: a proposal for their resolution

Abstract: Space-time singularities are an ubiquitous prediction of Einstein's General Relativity (GR). They represent (perhaps) the most important conundrum in our understanding of the nature of the gravitational interaction and, moreover, are the pivotal point for our theoretical attempts to extend the theory. In this talk I will describe one of such attempts - metric-affine gravity -, and tackle the resolution of such singularities according to several perspectives for detecting potentially pathological behaviours.
