Alternative method to extract von Neumann entropy from Renyi entropies

Abstract: An alternative method is developed for extracting the von Neumann entropy from the Renyi entropies without having to rely on the replica trick and analytic continuation from integers. Instead a generating function for the Renyi entropies in an auxiliary complex variable z is analytically continued in z. Simple analytical and numerical calculations are given as examples.
