Abstract: Recall that the famous Neukirch and Uchida Theorem (and its variants) show that the isomorphism type of global fields is functorially encoded in their absolute and/or solvable Galois theory. Inspired by the very recent work of Saidi-Tamagawa on the topic, and work by Harry Smit related to the subject, I will present some work in progress on quite "minimalistic" forms of the Neukirch and Uchida Theorem and its generalizations. This work in progress is collaboration with Adam Topaz.
