Categorification in Representation Theory

Abstract: I will explain some of the ideas behind the theory of finitary 2-representations of finitary 2-categories, which attempts to categorify the representation theory of finite dimensional algebras. I will illustrate these on the example of the categorification of Hecke algebras via Soergel bimodules.
