Surface triangulations and friezes

Abstract: Interplays between representation theory of algebras and combinatorics give rise to new discoveries and questions. In this talk, I will give a tour of some of these development using friezes interpreted in different contexts. This talk is based on a joint work with K. Baur, L. Bittman, E. Gunawan, and G. Todorov.
