Global Quantum Many-body Theory

Abstract: The program of studying the categories of topological orders or quantum liquids, was initiated in 1502.01690 and 1702.00673, where the notion of a morphism between two topological orders (or quantum liquids) was introduced. This notion is different from the usual definition by a domain wall but contains the recent idea of Symmetry TFT as special cases. In this talk, I will review this notion and show how it led us immediately to the so-called boundary-bulk relation, then to a unified theory of both gapped and gapless boundaries of 2+1D topological orders and topological Wick rotation 1705.01087,1905.04924,1912.01760, and eventually to a mathematical theory of gapped/gapless quantum liquids 2011.02859, 2107.03858, 2201.05726
