Abstract: 4d gauge theories are strongly coupled at low energies, and their analytic computations are quite tough problem. In recent years, there was a discovery that $4d$ QCD on $R^2 \times T^2$ with the baryon-‘t Hooft flux accepts weakly-coupled description with maintaining its interesting features: We can derive the chiral effective Lagrangian analytically with including the $\eta'$ field. We then show that the $\eta'$ vortex in this $2d$ setup can be identified as the quark itself, and we discuss its connection with Komargodski’s pancake baryon scenario.
