Abstract: I will discuss the problem of constructing relativistic, unitary and crossing-symmetric scattering amplitudes in higher-dimensional gapped theories. I will review the implications of elastic unitarity and crossing, as well as the observation that the resulting structure can be nonperturbatively realized using the contraction mapping theorem. I will report on the numerical implementation of the idea of solving unitarity with contraction mappings in a simplified context of 2d S-matrices.
