Topological expansions, Random matrices and free probability

Abstract: In this lecture, I will discuss the remarkable connection between random matrices, the enumeration of maps and some applications to operator algebras and physics. This talk will be based on joint works with Vaughan Jones and Dima Shlyakhtenko as well as work in progress with Edouard Maurel Segala.
