Abstract: The exterior calculus of differential forms has been an important tool in solving PDEs in geometry processing. In this talk we expand the usage of differential forms to a whole new way of representing curves and surfaces. By doing so we reformulate the classical nonconvex Plateau minimal surface problem into a convex optimization problem.

Online Seminar "Geometric Analysis"

Series comments: We discuss recent trends related to geometric analysis in a broad sense. The general idea is to solve geometric problems by means of advanced tools in analysis. We will include a wide range of topics such as geometric flows, curvature functionals, discrete differential geometry, and numerical simulation.
