Abstract: The talk is concerned with the existence of upper mass bounds for $m$-dimensional surfaces in terms of curvature integrals. We focus on the case of surfaces confined to a set $\Omega$ in ${\mathbb R}^n$ meeting $\partial \Omega$ orthogonally along their boundary (joint work with Marius Müller, Freiburg). In a previous paper with Victor Bangert (Freiburg) there is a related result for $2$-dimensional surfaces in Riemannian manifolds.

Online Seminar "Geometric Analysis"

Series comments: We discuss recent trends related to geometric analysis in a broad sense. The general idea is to solve geometric problems by means of advanced tools in analysis. We will include a wide range of topics such as geometric flows, curvature functionals, discrete differential geometry, and numerical simulation.
