Weak mixing for semigroup actions and applications to pointwise ergodic theorems

Abstract: We provide a sufficient condition for the natural boundary action of free semigroups to be weak mixing. This result yields new pointwise ergodic theorems for free semigroup actions, where the averages are taken along trees. This is joint work with Anush Tserunyan.
