Abstract: The restriction conjecture is a major open problem in harmonic analysis concerning interactions between the Fourier transform and curved surfaces. While the case of elliptic, or positively curved, surfaces has been studied most, this talk will describe some recent results from non-elliptic settings. In particular, global restriction estimates for hyperboloids will be presented.
