Abstract: In this talk I will present the current progress of an ongoing joint project with R. Höfer and C. Zeppieri. We study the homogenization of nonlinear Stokes-type problems for incompressible fluids on randomly perforated domains. We assume minimal hypotheses on the obstacles distribution, allowing for clustering and overlapping of perforations. By means of a Γ-convergence result, we show that, similarly to the case of nonlinear Laplace problems, there is a critical scale of the obstacles for which an extra term appears in the limiting energy. This extra term may be interpreted as an effective drag term due to the homogenized presence of perforations.
