Simplicial generators for Chow rings of matroids

Abstract: The simplicial generators of a Chow ring of a matroid are divisors pulled back from a product of projective spaces. Multiplying them can be interpreted combinatorially, yielding a simple formula for the volume polynomial of the Chow ring of a matroid. If time permits, we will discuss further developments these generators have inspired since their introduction. Joint work with Chris Eur & Spencer Backman.
