The adelic image of a Galois representation attached to a CM elliptic curve

Abstract: In this talk we will discuss recent work on the classification of $\ell$-adic images of Galois representations attached to elliptic curves with complex multiplication, and applications. In particular, we will show how to construct the adelic image of representations attached to CM elliptic curves (joint work with Benjamin York), and we will discuss results on the minimal degree of definition of torsion structures (joint work with Enrique Gonzalez Jimenez).
