Abstract: For classical Schrödinger operators, the decay of the potential towards infinity determines the finiteness of its negative spectrum. In the particular case where it is asymptotically homogeneous of degree -2, the size of the coupling distinguishes between the generation of finitely or infinitely many negative eigenvalues. In this talk I will show that a similar property holds for a family of potentials which oscillate at infinity with slower decay.
