Effective estimates for André-Oort in families of elliptic curves

Abstract: I will present joint work with Binyamini, Jones, Thomas in which we manage to give uniform and effective proofs of the André-Oort conjecture for families of elliptic curves. Time permitting, I will discuss possible generalizations of our result to families of abelian varieties.
