Abstract: Ever since their introduction, Euler systems have played an important role in proving conjectures on leading terms of L-series such as instances of the Tamagawa Number Conjecture of Bloch and Kato. In this talk, I will survey some recent developments in the general theory of Euler systems, including joint work in progress with David Burns.
