An index for inclusions of operator systems

Abstract: Motivated by the initial work of Jones, Pimsner, and Popa in studying the index of inclusions of II_1 factors, I will present an analogue to the ``classical index'' in the operator system category. After going through some background and initial motivation, our goal will be to connect this new ``completely positive index’’ of operator systems arising from finite graphs, to the Lovasz theta invariant.
