The generalized geometry of backgrounds with gaugino condensates
Mariana GraƱa (IPhT Saclay)
Abstract: Motivated by their potential to stabilise moduli, we inspect type II backgrounds with gaugino condensates on D-branes. We use the language of generalized complex geometry which is the most adapted to account for their back-reaction. After reviewing the effective 4d physics revealed by Kachru, Kallosh, Linde and Trivedi, as well as the basic concepts of generalized complex geometry, I will show in this talk how the gaugino condensates modify the action and the supersymmetry conditions, concentrating on compactifications to four dimensions, and discuss some of its salient features. We will show how the equations reproduce the phenomenon of moduli stabilisation, and comment on a local solution that matches the on-shell value obtained from the four-dimensional effective action.
