Abstract: Baxter's T-Q equation is a main instrument in the functional and algebraic Bethe ansatz approach to quantum spin chains. Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation is obeyed by the conformal blocks of the two dimensional current algebra. Remarkably, the analytic continuation of the latter, and a deformation of the former can be found in the realm of the four dimensional supersymmetric gauge theories with matter.
