Abstract: In this talk I will first discuss briefly about polynomial convexity and its application in polynomial approximations. Then, I will discuss the questions of polynomial convexity and approximation on compact subsets of a couple of classes of real surfaces in $\mathbb{C}^2$ with singularity, namely, the union of three totally real subspaces and surfaces with isolated CR-singularity.
