Renewal and ratio mixing properties of "nice" infinite ergodic transformations
Jon Aaronson (Tel Aviv University)
Abstract: I'll discuss "ratio mixing" properties of transformations preserving infinite measures ( e.g. as in Hopf's 1936 book) and also their "renewal properties" (occupation processes to sets of finite measure). Examples of "nice" transformations considered include certain null-recurrent Markov chains, - "intermittent" interval maps, - inner functions, hyperbolic geodesic flows on cyclic covers.
