Abstract: I present a complete proof of the Weak Gravity Conjecture (WGC) in perturbative, bosonic string theory, completing several partial arguments given in past literature. The proof leverages modular invariance, long-range forces, and their connection to extremal black holes. Along the way, I discuss several variants of the WGC that play a role in the proof. I conclude by previewing the extension of the proof to perturbative superstrings, which is work in progress.
