Abstract: In this talk, we will review the notion of local symplectic groupoid and its relation to Poisson geometry. We then summarize some recent results involving explicit constructions and their relation to quantization. Finally, we will comment on applications to discretization of hamiltonian flows on Poisson manifolds.
