Chow groups and Euler class groups of affine varieties

Abstract: In this talk, I shall present two results on the Chow group of 0-cycles on affine schemes over algebraically closed fields and give several consequences of these results. In particular, I shall discuss proofs of an old conjecture of Murthy, a conjecture of Mohan Kumar-Murthy-Roy and also the Euler class groups of such schemes.
